I miss the times where gms had the rights to, if they were bored, spawn random bosses and monsters in cities. Like in Ragnarok Online when they spawned somewhere suddenly a mvp monster. lol

I started playing BC when my parent let me make a character on their account, and I was still new by the time pre launch for WotLK was happening. I did not know it was going on until my dwarf hunter was questing Westfall (still lower twenties) and i see a pack of ghouls with skull levels coming my way. I paniced, as i had no idea what was going on, and was killed with everyone else in Sentinel Hill. About ten minutes later I was in Stormwind and got caught up on it, and joined in the fun. I largely stayed in Stormwind trying to get people when they didn't expect me.

I have come across a few toxic people in Ffxiv. One was a tank that was freaking out on me after we wiped because I couldn't keep up healing everyone as they decided that aoe's must actually be hottubs and are awesome to hang out in. It's crap like that that makes me hesitant to use the duty finder. Everyone pretends that there are no toxic people in Ffxiv but they definitely exist unfortunately.

And now here we are at the War Within prelaunch the most boring prelaunch even in wow history. Pussies have ruined this game.

I was considering reviving some of my old ideas for wow machinmas; beyond some of the basic tools like premier/aftereffects, wow model viewer and similar do you have any recomendations for more recent tools that you would suggest?

Is there any game that has as much community lore as WoW? The only other I can think of is Eve Online.

The WOTLK pre-launch zombie invasion was the best thing in any mmorpg ever.

I’m not a WoW player, but I think Blizzard dropped the ball with the listed mysteries… I’m wondering if the Ashbringer could have instead been reforged for the players, brought back to the light side or however things work in Azeroth. I’m not saying put players through One Small Favor or A Relic Reborn, but make the journey memorable. The Ashbringer was broken beyond normal repair, so the heroes must reforge it using methods so archaic no one remembers them and they have to recover the technique and materials, maybe? As for Tyr’s Fall, maybe tease the tomb’s existence and introduce it much earlier. If it’s only briefly there for a weapon quest, what’s even the point? It’s as easily forgotten as the Barrows in LOTRO if it’s not part of a story every player can access. As for the Jailer… I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Shadowlands. In all honestly, if they actually *had* plans for the Jailer, they should’ve teased him throughout the years instead of “It’s me! I was the turkey all along!” I think ARR did it better, with Lahabrea announcing his evil plan during the final Trial of A Realm Reborn, with Emet-Selch expounding the dynamic between Zodiark and Hydaelyn in Shadowbringers. We knew who the bad guys were, we knew what they were doing, and we slowly learned why. Apologies to the WoW players I’ve probably offended. I just thought I’d offer my (outsider’s) two cents.

i ran into a couple of tauren rp'ers once when i made my first forsaken character. had no idea what an rp'er was so i told them i would eat their father or something along those lines and they acted SO appalled that i like to think that i was a menace to their personal story
